New European entity, ECR AECT, focused on road transport inspection

The mission of Euro Controle Route of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (ECR AECT) is to improve road safety, promote fair competition, and enhance working conditions in road transport throughout Europe.

This group of European Transport Inspection Services, founded on February 12, 2024, is headquartered in Rijswijk (Netherlands) and is composed of seven founding members: Germany, France, Croatia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Poland.

ECR-AECT works to establish uniform safety standards and regulatory compliance for commercial vehicles across Europe. Its approach includes facilitating cross-border cooperation, organizing joint training programs, and exchanging best practices to promote a safer, fairer, and more sustainable transport environment.

The presidency of ECR rotates annually, and in 2024, Poland will assume the presidency while the Netherlands will take the vice presidency.
